Lagosians respond to Welcome to Lagos

Last week we published a review of the BBC Two documentary Welcome to Lagos, which has been criticised by many arms of Nigerian government. Today two natives of Lagos have published their reactions to the issues.

Zahrah Nesbitt-Ahmed writes that the very people the government would clear away are the people who underpin the whole Lagosian economy. Rolake Rosiji reminds the government that the coexistence of slums and formal business will be no barrier to investment, as India and China (and Brazil) have proven, and offers five policy areas where the government would do well to refocus its attention.
