Introduction:
The Building and Social Housing Foundation (BSHF) is a small, creative organisation that is recognised by the United Nations for its work in identifying and disseminating good housing practice. It was established in 1976 and is an independently funded research organisation with charitable status. BSHF works both in the UK and internationally to identify innovative housing solutions and to foster the exchange of information and good practice and is committed to promoting housing policy and practice that is people-centred and environmentally responsible. Since 2006, BSHF has held Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
Job Description:
The primary purpose of the post is to support the development of international research and knowledge transfer activities at BSHF by collaborating with the BSHF international team and contributing to a range of publications, reports and international knowledge transfer activities. We anticipate that as you develop within the role you will be able to take individual responsibility for specific research projects.
Person Specification:
You will have a strong commitment to international housing issues and a degree in a related field, such as planning, geography, development studies, sociology, international studies, environmental science or architecture. Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and good analytical skills are essential plus experience in the housing sector and a European language desirable.
