Having introduced its cycle hire scheme later than many other cities, London could have built upon the lessons learned overseas. Disappointingly for Joe Peach, there is little innovation in the London scheme, and the outer suburbs, who helped win Boris Johnson the mayoralty, are still missing out on this initiative.
