The Global Urbanist is looking for new contributing editors!
The Global Urbanist is an online magazine that provides a platform for dialogue between professionals, academics and policy makers working on cities worldwide by offering unique views and analysis on the challenges posed by urbanization around the world.
We’re looking to expand the publication and take on new contributing editors in early 2015. We welcome applications from those with a knack for writing and expert knowledge of urban issues.
The Global Urbanist publishes articles by a wide range of authors, including urban professionals, journalists and graduate students, provided that they can contribute original pieces and demonstrate critical thinking supported by personal and well-articulated arguments on the making of cities and urban policies.
The website, the authors and editors operate entirely on a voluntary basis and have contributed to making the publication a recognised point of reference in the field. In the coming months, we intend to continue developing the website, expand content production and our authors' community and initiate long-term research projects.
Prospective candidates should:
- Have previous writing or editorial experience,
- Have a strong grasp of written English.
- Possess expert knowledge of urban development and international development issues. You will be expected to provide feedback on a wide range of topics, including global policies, urban sustainability, local housing, post-war reconstruction and community development and design.
- Be available to contribute about 2-4 hours/week and ideally have experience managing websites or online content management systems.

If you would like to apply, please send a short statement on why you would like to join, your CV and one to two writing samples that would fit into The Global Urbanist to email@example.com.
